• Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 offers complete protection of your computer in the form of antivirus, firewall, parental controls, phishing protection, so called Sandbox and everything else you could want. This without requiring too much of your computer.

When Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 launched in the Swedish version, we published a news about it and promised to come back with a test. Now I have test driven security package on a laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate and I can already tell you first that I have been happy with the security package.

As I wrote in the article on trends in the antivirus 2010 has security firms this year focused more on programs to trim down further, and that you move out much of the control of dangerous code to the cloud. This means that your security software communicates with the security company's servers to keep track of whether the programs you run or download is legitimate.

This type of solution in the cloud has become a must. The previous technique was based on signatures (virus signatures, or definition lists) but since it released today around 25,000 new unsafe code every day (Source: Symantec ) , there is no way to keep everybody abreast of new signature files. To update its antivirus once a day is no longer enough. Therefore, it is smart to take it to the cloud, and thereby obtain protection against the latest threats in real time.

    Installera Kaspersky 2010

As I wrote above, I installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 on a laptop withWindows 7 Ultimate operating system. The computer is rather limited in its technology and contains only an Intel Pentium Mobile processor at 1.73 GHz and 1 GB of internal memory.

By running on an older machine, I think you get a more accurate picture of how the software package will really work out to ordinary people, where you rarely have a computer of top model. In addition, you see the manufacturers told the truth when they talk about their software requires little computing power.

The installation is not much to talk about. It went quickly and smoothly. The process took about fifteen minutes and then loaded including an update to the latest version of the program down. When installation was finished, I found out that the computer was protected, and then stayed Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 quietly in the background - just as you would like a security package to do.

There was a problem, and it was that I did after the installation did not come to my other computers or my NAS on the network. It is a fairly common problem after you have installed a firewall, so after changing the rights to the firewall it worked again.

  • Password: security tool

Passwords are an essential tool for user safety. In the event that the access keys, end up in the hands of evil, personal and economic consequences could be disastrous.

Although many people make use of passwords in a responsible way, are still too many who only use an access key to any type of service.
Through an 'analysis conducted by experts showed that about 20% of the people of the Internet in Italy, Germany, Sweden and the UK uses a single key for all services, banking dall'online, email and video games. About 20% of users write access keys on pieces of paper, while 8% of the easily forgotten and is forced to change them often.

A few too many passwords for Services

Finding ourselves in the world today have to handle a large number of data for online access, users are often inclined to use one or maximum two passwords for each type of service. Unfortunately, this is a technique that can lead to unpleasant consequences, bad because many of the network, continuously seeking new ways to steal passwords and exploit them to their advantage.

For some time the bad computer, make use of fake emails asking for confirmation of passwords and usernames and then access to bank information and other personal information. With exponential growth, even the social network for excellence, Facebook has become a favorite target from bad to get users' passwords. Undermining the Facebook account, criminals link to access email users, thus achieving a considerable amount of confidential data. People who use the same password for all online services, have much more to lose.

    What to do

For passwords, it is recommended not to use information in profiles on Facebook, such as date of birth, your name or pet, and try to create passwords that are difficult to detect such mix letters and numbers is a great way to get access keys safer. Making use of secure passwords, delete e-mail confidential and be aware of how to move the bad guys, are all steps that we can put into practice. Moreover, it is advisable to use a single email account for business transactions, such as everything related to the bank, and another in place to register for various online services like Facebook. Of course, in addition to these behavioral techniques, use security software that can curb the virus attacks that try to infect computers, it is essential to reduce a phenomenon that in recent years has grown exponentially.

  • Dell ,XPS,M1210, battery, Guide,Information, Security, Quiz, True, False?

    Dispelling some myths:

1 - I have a good antivirus and update it continuously. My computer is safe.

False: an antivirus, as well as a Antispyware protects the system from the threats they know, but not by the unknown. From when you enter a new threat to the network that the software is able to identify you can go from hours to days in this period of time the system is at risk ...

2 - Do not ever open emails from strangers. I can not be "infected" by email.

False: The flaw of the WMF is an example: simply highlight the email and preview it to be struck by the attack and who was using a client on Windows with thumbnail enabled was forced to select to delete it and therefore to preview. You can not know in advance when a flaw (bug) can be discovered and then exploited.

3 - I can not get any viruses if you do not surf any website

False: Although the majority of malware from spreading through the Internet and websites, there are other ways of "contagion." Leaving aside, however, the possibility (if any) of infection associated with removable media (USB devices, CD / DVD and others) continue to consider some possible attacks exploit or DDoS attacks that can happen even to the simple connection to your ISP without surfing with any browser.

4 - I have a powerful well-configured firewall. I feel comfortable not to receive attacks from outside.

False: firewalls (both software and hardware) to protect us from some types of attack. Moreover, they themselves can contain security flaws as it has for some routers Alice (Telecom Italy) or CISCO.

5 - I have the updated Antivirus, Firewall, an Anti-Rootkit and spyware filtering. I do not need to update the operating system.

False: "Seal" the flaws of a system for carrying out the updates and hotfixes (regardless of OS) is updated to take priority over the security programs. Some software, in fact, are only able to intercept the attacks, but not eliminate the cause and, therefore, is not exposed as long as you install the relevant patches.

6 - The use of long and complex password provides added security.

Partly true. A password is formed by characters with symbols and figures is more difficult to detect, but also to remember! If the password complexity leads to write it down on a sheet that you leave in plain sight in the office or at home, of course, is any less effective. Equally risky is keep it in a file. The best way to store passwords is to use a special software (itself protected with a password) that keeps track. In this way, we must remember one password to gain access to all the others.

7 - I scan with all security software, and many online services and was not detected anything. My system is clean.

False. As for point 1. We must also say that many current software and security systems offer a kind of heuristic detection that attempts to understand how and at what level some unknown applications behave. This makes it possible to intercept a potentially harmful action, but must also meeting with potential false positives.

8 - Some operating systems are safer than others

Partly true. Although the majority of malware circulating on the network is intended for Microsoft operating systems that does not mean that other systems are not exposed to risks. Do not forget that the malware is composed not only of "files" that are installed on your system, but also hoaxes, spam and network of various types that can steal information (and to disseminate or use for profit) regardless of the system. E 'on the user behavior that is based on safety, do not use the system ain. Enrolling in an online community that is not implementing a policy of treatment of data in an honest manner, for example, can lead to the same consequences that have a Trojan installed on your system.
